Bethany Kloeden
Paediatric Emergency Physician
Bethany is a paediatric emergency physician at Perth Children’s Hospital. Originally from South Australia, she traipsed around the country for training, working in Adelaide, Melbourne, Brisbane, Darwin and Sydney before relocating to Perth. This diversity in location has resulted in the opportunity to learn a variety of approaches and practices, as well as getting to explore many areas of our wonderful country.
Bethany is the medical lead for Distress Minimisation in PCH ED. Distress minimisation focuses on reducing the distress and pain experienced by children in the ED, particularly for procedures. Neurodiverse children are particularly at risk of distress and dysregulation in the ED, thus the Neurodiversity Care Program was created to help these children and families have a more positive experience.
